The Miracle of Saving Lives...at
Denville
Over the last three years, emergency
admissions to Saint Clare’s
Hospital/Denville have increased 10.5 percent, with the Denville
Emergency Department now caring for nearly 37,000 adults and 8,000
children a year. Those levels are projected to grow to 45,000 adults
and 15,000 children over the next 5 to 10 years.
In order to adequately serve the community’s growing emergency
needs, provide for safer patient access, and to prepare for potential
bio-chemical exposures, Saint Clare’s needs to expand its Emergency
Department capabilities in Denville and undertake both internal and
external renovations to the existing emergency facility.
These upgrades will include: the installation
of a dedicated C-T scanner, X-ray rooms, a Triage Room, a new Waiting
Room for families, and a private Grieving/Family Consultation Room;
expansion to the pediatric emergency center to include 8 Treatment
Rooms, a Resuscitation Room and an Orthopedics Room specifically
for children; and renovation to include a decontamination washing
facility and equipment for recovering and storing materials and chemicals
for safe disposal.
