Project
Supported by Miracles Campaign
One of the new projects supported
by the Miracles campaign, the new $2.5 million Emergency Department
at Saint Clare’s Hospital/Sussex, opened at a festive “ribbon
cutting” ceremony on January 31, attended by nearly 100 administrators,
staff, donors, elected officials and media.
The new 4,000 square-foot facility offers a new nurse’s station,
upgraded treatment rooms, a new triage area, enlarged patient entry
and ambulance access areas, an upgraded trauma room, and an all-new
treatment room dedicated to cardiac trauma.
Of the $2.5 million construction cost, $1.75 million was raised
from private funds. Over the past several years, some 115 individuals,
corporations, organizations and events have made a gift towards this
new facility as part of Saint Clare’s Health System’s
Miracles capital campaign. Fundraising continues for this new facility
and any new donations will be allocated to its annual operational
costs.

“From its founding in 1918 as the Alexander Linn Hospital,
Saint Clare’s Hospital/Sussex has been an important part
of the fabric of Sussex County. In recent years we have provided
much-needed medical services to Sussex County’s growing population,” said
Stephen Bocskocsky, Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer
of the Sussex hospital. “As the only hospital serving northern
Sussex County, we share the community’s desire to have a
vibrant, technologically superior hospital in the community. Our
Emergency Department currently cares for nearly 10,000 patients
each year, and we anticipate this number to rise as more and more
people settle into our communities. This new Emergency Department
is the initial step in a complete transformation of the facility,
and a sign of our continued commitment to serving the medical needs
of the region.”
“Saint Clare’s Health System is meeting the challenges
of growth and expansion in our communities by providing the highest
quality of service to those who come to us for care,” said
Gary J. Blan, President and CEO of Saint Clare’s Health System. “The
new ED at Saint Clare’s Hospital/Sussex, coupled with an additional
$1 million in exterior and interior renovations and $1 million in
technology upgrades, has and will continue to place the facility
in a position to make a deeper and more positive impact on healthcare
services. We remain dedicated to providing leading-edge medical care
to our neighbors.”
Saint Clare’s Health System, which has served the healthcare
needs of northwestern New Jersey residents since 1895, is the region’s
premier provider of community-based healthcare and behavioral health
services. Saint Clare’s operates hospitals in Boonton Township,
Denville, Dover and Sussex Borough and other facilities located throughout
Morris and Sussex counties.
